Buy. Give. Receive. Remind.
These are the heart of the It’s On Me! Social Gifting user experience.

These also define the steps you as a user go through in order to use the system. In order to give a gift (or, if the vendor allows, to buy for yourself), the first step is to buy one or more items (such as this gourmet sandwich) from the store. The store may be the main store or from a vendor’s Facebook page tab.
From there, you give (or keep) the gift. On the “Give” tab, you select from the gifts you have available to give then choose the recipient from your Facebook friends list. It’s quick and simple. It’s important to note that your
friend will be notified privately, but if you want to post to his or her wall, that’s easy too. Just select the kind of notification you want to use when you select the gift to give. “General” just means “you have received a gift” while “specific” means that the vendor logo and a specific summary of the gift will be displayed on your recipient’s Facebook wall.

If you’re receiving, it’s just as easy. Click the “Receive” tab to view the items you’ve been given. Here, you have the choice of emailing yourself the coupon (for example, to display on
a smartphone) or viewing/printing the code right there. It will look something like this when you click on “View/Print”.

Take this coupon (whether electronically or paper) into the participating vendor and enjoy your gift! (Don’t forget to thank the person who gave it to you, too, perhaps by reciprocating?)
That’s really all there is to it. Of course, you can change your communication preferences, look at your gift history, remind your recipients of the gifts you’ve given them, and more… but those tasks await you and your convenience.
