So you’ve received a gift notification. That’s great! You’re three simple steps away from receiving your gift.
Step 1: Get into the Application
It’s entirely possible that you’ve received a gift notification out of the blue from a great friend. In order to get you coupon, you need to go into the main application. You can do this at your notification by clicking the “Accept” button or by going directly into It’s On Me! Real-world Social Gifting. (If this is your first time in the app, you will need to grant permissions. Read our privacy policy first, and for more details about the app itself, check out the buying/gifting side of things.)
Step 2: Email or print your coupon
Click on the “Receive & Claim” tab in the application. It should have a number in green (at least “1″ because this is the number of gifts you have to redeem). Inside this tab, you will have Individual Items (like a beer, a sandwich, a massage) and VendorBux™ (where you will have store credit at a particular vendor, and your balance will show here), depending on what you have been given.
For the gift you want to redeem, either click the “Email to yourself” link (for those with smartphones – it’s paperless! Your coupon will be sent to the email address
associated with your Facebook account) or click “View/Print”, which will display your coupon like this. The information at the top tells the vendor what the coupon is for, what its value is, and more. The information at the bottom is for you; address, telephone number, etc. about the vendor you’re about to visit.
It doesn’t matter which you choose. All the same information is available to the vendor, paper or paperless!
Please note: some items from some vendors may have special redemption instructions, such as 24 hour notice for whole pies, or that some items may have limited availability on any given day. This information will be on the coupon.
Step 3: Redeem!
Once you have your coupon in hand (and followed any special vendor instructions), visit your vendor and claim your gift! They may scan the code or read the numbers in order to verify your gift, but you’re just moments away!
Step 4: Enjoy!
Ok, this really isn’t a step, but it’s the point of the whole process. Don’t forget to thank your friend, business partner, customer, client, or whoever gave you the gift! Likewise, be sure to give feedback to the vendor. They’ll love to hear from you!
