We understand. There are lots of scams, spams, and otherwise confusing things to participate in on Facebook. After all, IOMG has no dead varmits, pink cows, zombies, or luxury condo towers (at least not yet), but all the same, wouldn’t it be nice to have some instructions?

Step 1: Find the store.
This isn’t a silly step… there are two places you should look. First would be the Facebook page of your favorite vendors. You’re
likely already on their page so go for it. Look for the Yin/Yang logo in the tabs on the left of their page, like in this example from Buckbean Brewing Company. Click the tab to get the page store. Can’t find it? Vendors are encouraged to name it whatever they like, so be sure to look for the Yin Yang logo

Or maybe you aren’t sure what to get your friend and you want to browse. Go to the main It’s On Me! Application store then, at http://apps.facebook.com/itsonmegifts/ to see all the regions and all the stores within the regions.
Step 2: Buy your Item(s)
See that big yellow/orange “Buy Now” button. That takes you to a PayPal checkout page. Use your credit card, debit card, PayPal account, e-check, or more to pay for your purchase. Chickens, goats, and the immortal souls of your enemies, preserved in a shrunken head are currently not accepted for online transactions. Be sure to check with your favorite vendor before bringing any of these or similar currencies into the respective storefronts.
Whether you’re buying from the vendor’s page or the main mall, once you pay for your purchase, you will be offered a link to return and you will be brought back to the page you started from. Your gift to give (or keep, if the vendor allows) will be listed under your “Give” tab, and the green number in the tab (or in your summary on the vendor page) will be incremented.
Step 3: Give!
Now that you have something to give, it’s easy to deliver too. Go to the main application and click your Give tab.
The important parts are:
- Pick which gift you want to give. In this example, there is only one.
- Choose if you want to post to your friend’s wall or not, and if you want it to be “I gave you a gift” or “I gave you a sandwich from Wet Hen Cafe”
- Click the “Select a friend…” button.
This will bring up a standard Facebook friend selection dialog. Choose your friend, send your request. You can enter a personal message if you like (encouraged, actually). Click “Send”. If you chose to post to your friend’s wall, you will be asked to fill in a message there too, if you choose. Post (or not, you are allowed to change your mind). That’s all there is to it. You’ve purchased and delivered your gift!
